Continuing our summer study of Genesis. In this lesson we pick up in chapter 44.
Text: Genesis 1
We consider the monumental achievement of the 1968 Apollo 8 mission and the reading of Genesis 1 from lunar orbit. What makes this truly interesting is the time-coloring of that reading - in the midst of a time of national turmoil. The reading of Genesis 1 by the Apollo 8 astronauts was a symbol of unity and much-needed perspective shift for a nation in tumult. As people who one again find ourselves in a time of similar national turmoil, we stop and consider the reminder from three astronauts who read Genesis 1 from lunar orbit.
Ken's family is in quarantine, so one of our elders (Lee Myers) fills in this morning. There is no video with this lesson due to the last minute change of circumstance.
