Guidelines for In-Person Meetings Resuming on Sunday, July 7th
The time has come. The elders have decided to resume in-person meetings of the Woodland church on a limited basis beginning on Sunday, June 7th @ 10:30 AM.
This abbreviated session will last approximately 45 minute..
We will not be meeting for evening worship or Bible classes for the foreseeable future.
We will, however, continue to offer an online study that is posted every Wednesday evening on our website.
If you are part of a high risk group, we advise that you use wisdom in determining whether you should attend.
If you are uncomfortable going out in public for health reasons, we will post a recording of the worship session on our website by 6 PM on Sunday evening for your viewing.
In order to make this happen in the safest manner possible, the elders have instituted new procedures that our members and visitors need to be aware of prior to their arrival on Sunday AM.
we will take temperatures of all members and guests prior to entry using a touchless thermometer. If you are visibly ill, or demonstrating symptoms (such as a fever, a persistent cough, etc.) you will be asked to leave (for the safety of others) and encouraged to watch the recorded session when it is posted later in the evening.
SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES
Certain areas of the building will be closed. Please respect these clearly marked and cordoned off areas.
We ask that everyone maintain a 6’ radius between them and others.
This means no handshakes or hugs or other physical contact.
Family units (living in the same house) will be permitted to sit together on a pew with a 6’ space between the next family unit.
As such, seating in the auditorium will be limited and on a first-come, first served basis.
When you arrive, you will be seated by one of our elders, who will be serving as ushers according to CDC guidelines.
When the session is over, you will be dismissed row by row by the elders to maintain social distancing - PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE PEWS WHERE YOU WERE SEATED.
We ask that no one congregates in the lobby before or after the worship session. If you would like to visit, please do so outside the building while maintaining proper social distancing procedures (mask, 6 feet, etc).
Face masks will be required of all members and visitors for entry into the building - this is for the protection of others as well as yourself. If you arrive without a mask, one will be provided before entry. Those serving in a role that requires speaking (prayers, announcements, preaching, song leading) can remove the mask to serve, but must put it back on after they finish.
TOUCHLESS hand sanitizer stations will be placed in the lobby and restrooms for your convenience.
The building will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the next scheduled worship session.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING WORSHIP
Each session will begin with a short video explaining what to expect (this is for the benefit of any visitors).
There will be a brief period of additional announcements.
There will be three to four songs led by our song leader.
All song books and pew bibles have been removed.
We will utilize projected lyrics during congregational singing.
The Lord’s Supper observance has been modified to reduce contact (we are no longer passing plates with bread & fruit of the vine).
When you enter the building, you will be handed a ziploc bag that contains one pre-packaged cup of grape juice and a piece of bread.
When the time comes, someone will lead a prayer for the bread - at which time, you can eat the bread in the ziploc bag.
Then a prayer will be led for the fruit of the vine, and then you can open the pre-packaged cup and partake.
Please place the empty cup back into the ziploc bag and place it in the trash can by the exit on the way out after the service ends.
This observance will be followed by a 10 minute devotional with invitation.
The closing prayer will also include thanks for the blessings and on the way out, a lock box will be available to receive any freewill contributions of the church.
These changes are for the continued health and protection of our members and visitors. We appreciate your patience and your compliance and look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning @ 10:30 AM.
